In this workshop participants will learn how to screen print a one colour image using paper stencils. Screen printing with paper stencils is a direct way of experimenting with vibrant and graphic images in screen printing.
During the workshop participants will learn how to set up a press for printing and create a screen printed image by cutting and affixing a paper stencil to their screen. Each participant will finish the workshop with multiple copies of one single-colour image of their own creation.
Lots of different styles and imagery is possible with this fun technique!
Printing photographic images or digitally created images is not possible with this method or in this workshop. Our introduction to screen printing workshop covers the photographic method of applying a stencil to the screen where it is possible to print photographs or digital images.
This workshop is suitable for those who are interested in trying out screen printing as a new process and for those who want to have some light hearted fun with printmaking.
